Can I run GTA 6 on PC?
No PC version has been announced. Rockstar lists only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said Rockstar launches on console first and has not committed to a PC date. In October 2026 Xbox also denied reports that the game would stream to PC at launch. For context only: GTA V reached PC about 19 months after its console launch, Red Dead Redemption 2 about 13 months after.
Will my PC run GTA 6? Estimate
The baseline: console hardware 📄 Official
GTA VI is built for these consoles. A PC version would most likely scale from this level.
| Console | CPU | GPU | Memory | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PS5 | AMD Zen 2, 8 cores / 16 threads, up to 3.5 GHz | AMD RDNA 2, 10.28 TFLOPS, 36 CUs | 16 GB GDDR6 (shared) | 825 GB SSD, 5.5 GB/s |
| PS5 Pro | AMD Zen 2, 8 cores / 16 threads | 16.7 TFLOPS, 60 CUs, PSSR upscaling | 16 GB GDDR6 + 2 GB DDR5 | 2 TB SSD |
| Xbox Series X | AMD Zen 2, 8 cores, 3.8 GHz | AMD RDNA 2, 12.15 TFLOPS, 52 CUs | 16 GB GDDR6 | 1 TB NVMe SSD, 2.4 GB/s |
| Xbox Series S | AMD Zen 2, 8 cores, 3.6 GHz | AMD RDNA 2, ~4 TFLOPS, 20 CUs | 10 GB GDDR6 | 512 GB NVMe SSD |
How GTA VI runs on console ⚠ Reported
Rockstar has not published resolution or frame-rate targets. The PlayStation Store lists the game as PS5 Pro Enhanced without saying what that means.
In August 2026 a Rockstar North co-director said informally that console builds target 30 fps. Digital Foundry measured roughly 1440p at a mostly stable 30 fps on base PS5 in the official Extended Look footage, and called 60 fps on current consoles unlikely because the game is CPU-heavy.
What that hardware equals on PC ⚠ Reported
GPU: Digital Foundry tested the Radeon RX 6700 as "the PS5 GPU in PC form"; on the NVIDIA side the PS5 lands roughly between an RTX 2070 Super and an RTX 2080. The PS5 Pro is often compared to an RTX 4070 / RX 7700 XT class card. CPU: the consoles use a cut-down 8-core Zen 2 that performs below a desktop Ryzen 7 3700X in games.
These are press comparisons, not Rockstar statements. Digital Foundry also says GTA VI is limited mostly by the CPU, so a strong GPU with an old CPU may still struggle.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is Rockstar’s most recent big PC port on the same RAGE engine family. GTA VI will need more — treat these as a floor, not a target.

What experts predict ⚠ Reported
- Digital Foundry (via Notebookcheck): The game is CPU-heavy, so 60 fps on PC will be hard; likely only top-end CPUs get there. Lowering ray tracing or resolution and using DLSS would help. source
- Digital Foundry (via Dexerto): 60 fps is out of reach even on PS5 Pro because of the CPU, so PC players will need much stronger CPUs than the consoles for high frame rates. source
- PC Gamer: Expects a PC release in 2027 or later. source
